Levels

How we decide which results are at the top of a profile.

Not every beachrace has an equally strong field. That is why every race on strandrace.com has one of four levels. The level decides how much a result counts towards the best results at the top of a rider profile and the Ranking. The result itself does not change.

1 Classic counts for 100%

The biggest beachraces with an international field, such as Egmond-Pier-Egmond, De Panne and the European championship. A win here is worth 200 points, a 3rd place 130 and a 10th place 50. The top 40 get points.

Races: De Panne Beach Endurance, Egmond-Pier-Egmond, UEC EK Beachrace

2 Top race counts for 80%

The Dutch championship and other big beachraces where the best Dutch riders are at the start. A win here is worth 160 points, a 3rd place 104 and a 10th place 40. The top 30 get points.

Races: BK Beachrace, Hoek van Holland Den Helder, NK Beachrace Rockanje, Open WK Beachrace

3 Standard race counts for 50%

A regular beachrace, for example a race in the NL-Beachcup. A win here is worth 100 points, a 3rd place 65 and a 10th place 25. The top 20 get points.

Races: Beach Bike Berck, Beachbattle Wijk aan Zee, Beachchallenge Koksijde, Beachrace Calais, Beachrace de Haan, Beachrace Wissant, Beachrace Zeebrugge, De Flexwinkel Beachrace, Deining D-Day Race, Derp Bikers Beachrace, Dijk tot Dijk, Farm Frites Rockanje, Katwijk, Kerst Beachrace Bredene, Knokke-Heist, KOGA MTB Zeeland, Noordwijk, Patina Beachbattle, Petten, Renesse, Scheveningen, Sram MTB Beachrace Noordwijk, Beachrace Ameland, Beachrace Blankenberge, Beachrace Brouwersdam, Beachrace Castricum, Beachrace Hargen aan Zee, Beachrace Noordwijk, Beachrace Rockanje, Texel, Versluys-Oostende, Wijk aan Zee, Zandvoort

4 Regional race counts for 20%

Smaller, regional beachraces, such as the Beachrace Ouddorp. A win here is worth 40 points, a 3rd place 21 and a 10th place 2. The top 10 get points.

Races: Regiobeachrace 1, Regiobeachrace 2, Regiobeachrace 3, Regiobeachrace 4, Regiobeachrace 5

Points system

Please note: this is strandrace.com's own points system, for the best results on a rider profile and the Ranking. It has nothing to do with the standings of a competition such as the NL-Beachcup; those standings are kept by the organisation itself.

Every overall position is worth a number of points, depending on the level. The five results with the most points are your best results; all points together are your points in the ranking.

So a 3rd place in a classic (130 points) counts more than a win in a standard race (100 points), and a win in a top race such as the Dutch championship (160 points) is worth as much as a 2nd place in a classic (160 points).
